First, we’ll determine how many batteries you need based on your device usage. Next, we’ll select the charging system that best suits your needs. The best option is often a combination of multiple charging systems (solar power, alternator, 120 V).

Are you looking to convert an RV, cottage, boat, or camper van?
The parts required will vary depending on your project.
What devices (coffee maker, computer, TV, etc.) do you want to use and for how long each day?
Check each device to find out how much energy it consumes in amps, volts or watts. Bring this information to your meeting, as we will need it. (The above information will help determine the number of batteries needed.)
How much space will you have to store the batteries?
Often, space for storing batteries is limited in an RV or camper van. This information is important, as it may mean that fewer batteries can be installed.
How much space do you have for solar panels?
Solar panels work like a battery charger. However, sometimes limited roof space on an RV must be considered. Depending on how much space is available for the panels, an AC charging system may be required.
Do you plan to travel internationally? (Central or South America?)
North American outlets are 120 volts, while South American outlets are 240 volts, so it’s important to choose the right equipment.
Do you want to do maintenance yourself?
Depending on your budget and level of expertise, your solar system can be fully automated to make maintenance easier.
What is your budget?
($1,000 to $3,000) ($3,000 to $5,000) ($5,000+). We will be able to better advise you on products if you let us know your budget and what you want to do.
Do you have a generator?
A generator can be handy, especially when it rains all week. Yup, it happens. If you already have a generator, we will take this into account when proposing charging solutions for your system’s batteries.
Do you have access to a 120-volt outlet at your campsite or at home?
You can also charge the batteries using a 120-volt outlet. Find out if you will have access to an outlet, depending on where you are camping (in the wilderness or at a campground).
How many days of range do you need?
Our basic systems have a two-day range without sun. But perhaps you’re dreaming of taking off for several days. Just let our expert know and they’ll take this into account.
